Book Shelf

If I were a book,
I would want you to be my shelf.
To protect me.
To hold me.
To always be with me.
But I'm me,
Which isn't good enough for you
to do any of those things for me.
So I'll just dream for the day to come.
The day I'll be that book,
And you'll be my shelf.
